Job summary

businessDEPOT Group is seeking a specialist tax advisor to manage a portfolio of HNW individuals, family groups, and SMSF clients from its Brisbane office. You will deliver high-quality tax compliance, advisory, and strategic support across personal tax and SMSF matters, while working closely with a Director to ensure timely year-end financials and tax returns.

You will review work produced by others, provide guidance to junior staff, and identify opportunities to improve client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in public practice accounting.
• Strong technical knowledge across personal tax, trusts, investment entities, and Div7A.

• Manage a portfolio of HNW individuals, family groups, and SMSF clients.
• Deliver high-quality tax compliance, advisory, and strategic support across personal tax and SMSF matters.
• Work closely with a Director to deliver accurate and timely year-end financials and tax returns.
• Build strong, trusted client relationships and become their go-to advisor.
• Review work prepared by others, provide guidance and coaching, and support junior team development [level dependent].
• Identify opportunities to add value, improve client outcomes, and contribute to broader advisory discussions.
• Experience in public practice accounting, with strong technical knowledge across personal tax, trusts, investment entities, and areas such as Div7A.
• Strong personal tax experience.
• SMSF experience is highly regarded, or a genuine interest in developing your expertise in this area.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work.
• Confidence communicating with clients and explaining complex matters in a practical way.
• A collaborative, down-to-earth approach to your work.
• Leadership experience, or a desire to grow in this area.
• And importantly – you enjoy building relationships and delivering a great client experience, not just processing work.
