Job summary

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Quality and Improvement Manager to strengthen safe, timely, equitable and person-centred care. You will lead a team to deliver a contemporary Whole System Quality framework across RMH and partner services.

You will work with clinical services and executives to identify opportunities, manage risk and embed evidence-based practices, driving organisation-wide improvement and capability building in a public health setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in whole system quality, improvement science and systems thinking within a complex healthcare environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams, build capability and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement aligned with The Melbourne Way.
• Strong experience partnering with clinicians, executives, consumers, families, carers and staff to support quality planning, patient safety and clinical risk management.
• Skilled in leading improvement and change initiatives that deliver organisation-wide outcomes using contemporary improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of mental health services and quality improvement approaches within a public health setting.

• Translate clinical governance frameworks into practical tools, processes and resources that support consistent application across services.
• Provide expert advice on clinical governance, assurance, patient safety and clinical risk management to support safe and effective care.
• Identify and enable opportunities for innovation, improvement and learning through the Integrated Clinical Governance Model.
• Build organisation-wide capability by supporting teams to apply improvement methodologies, implement innovative solutions and address healthcare delivery challenges.
• Partner with service leaders and frontline teams to provide contemporary, evidence-based advice and support continuous improvement initiatives.

About the role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Quality and Improvement (QI) team is seeking a Quality and Improvement Manager to help strengthen our commitment to Safe, Timely, Equitable and Person-centred care. This role plays a key part in enabling safer care, improving patient outcomes and building a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

Working closely with clinical services and colleagues across RMH, you will lead the delivery of a contemporary Whole System Quality framework, supporting teams to identify opportunities, manage risk, improve processes and embed evidence-based practices.

Drawing on your experience in whole system quality, co-design and clinical governance, you will lead a team of quality and safety specialists across quality partnerships and planning, patient safety and clinical risk management, quality improvement, and organisation-wide capability building.
