Job summary

Coogee is seeking an experienced Manager – People and Development to lead the people function and partner with leaders to drive workforce capability and business performance. Reporting to the CEO, this role delivers strategic and operational HR initiatives across the employee lifecycle with strong support to leaders and staff.

Your responsibilities include providing strategic advice to the Executive team, leading succession planning, and overseeing recruitment, onboarding and workforce

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in People & Development, HR or related field.
  • Experience partnering with executives, managers and employees to achieve people and business outcomes.
  • Experience leading remuneration, performance and employee development frameworks.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement people initiatives aligned to business objectives and future growth plans.
  • Lead and develop the People and Development team while supporting Coogee's values and ways of working.

Coogee is seeking an experienced Manager - People and Development to lead our people function and partner with leaders across the business to drive workforce capability, organisational effectiveness and business performance.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this leadership role is responsible for delivering strategic and operational people initiatives across the employee lifecycle, while ensuring high-quality support to leaders and employees throughout the organisation.

About the Role

As Manager - People and Development, you will:

  • Provide strategic people advice and support to the Executive team and business leaders.
  • Lead succession planning and organisational capability initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of recruitment, onboarding and workforce pipeline programs, including graduate, apprentice and work experience initiatives.
  • Drive performance management, leadership development and employee development initiatives.
  • Lead employee relations and industrial relations activities, including providing advice on workplace matters.
  • Oversee remuneration, salary benchmarking and employee benefits frameworks.
  • Develop and implement people initiatives aligned to business objectives and future growth plans.
  • Lead and develop the People and Development team whilst supporting the ongoing development of Coogee's people, values and ways of working.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in a People and Development, Human Resources or similar leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations, modern awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Experience partnering with Executives, managers and employees to achieve people and business outcomes.
  • Experience managing remuneration, performance and employee development frameworks.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic priorities with operational delivery.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
