Your role

As Manager, Enterprise Risk Governance, you’ll play a key role in strengthening governance, building organisational resilience and supporting informed decision-making across a complex operational environment.

Working closely with senior executives and leading a multidisciplinary team, you’ll turn risk and governance priorities into practical strategies that strengthen accountability, improve organisational readiness and support effective service delivery.

In this role, you will:

  • Set the direction – lead the development and continuous improvement of enterprise risk, governance and resilience frameworks, ensuring they remain effective and responsive to emerging challenges.
  • Provide strategic insight – deliver clear, evidence-based risk advice and reporting to support executive decision-making and oversight by the CSNSW Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Strengthen organisational resilience – oversee business continuity planning, preparedness, testing and post-incident reviews to help the agency anticipate and respond to disruption.
  • Drive effective governance – oversee governance committee operations, assurance activities and compliance reporting to support transparency and meet agency obligations.
  • Build capability and influence change – work across CSNSW to strengthen risk awareness, share knowledge and embed effective practices into everyday operations.
  • Lead a high-performing team – develop people, encourage collaboration and drive continuous improvement across enterprise risk and governance functions.

This is an opportunity to influence strategic priorities, work alongside senior decision-makers and make a tangible contribution to the way CSNSW manages risk and prepares for the future.

What we are looking for

An experienced governance and risk professional with a strong understanding of public sector governance frameworks, legislative and regulatory requirements, policies and delegations. You have demonstrated experience developing and improving enterprise risk frameworks, identifying emerging risks and providing practical, evidence-based advice to help senior executives make informed decisions and meet their governance and accountability obligations.

You are a confident communicator who can explain complex issues clearly, influence senior stakeholders and build productive relationships across a diverse organisation. You bring proven leadership skills, with the ability to set priorities, develop your team’s capability and work collaboratively to deliver outcomes in a complex operational environment.

You take a proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement, looking beyond immediate issues to identify better ways of working, strengthen governance practices and build organisational resilience. You can anticipate challenges, respond to changing priorities and translate strategic objectives into practical improvements.
