Job summary

The Shire of Esperance is seeking a strategic leader to head the Development Services team (Planning, Building and Environmental Health) for a two-year term. You will drive a major subdivision initiative and lead a Planning Scheme review that will shape Esperance for decades.

Bring a relevant tertiary qualification and a track record managing multi-disciplinary teams in local government, with strong stakeholder engagement and budgeting skills. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Health or Building Surveying.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary local government team.
• Excellent interpersonal, advocacy, negotiation and mediation skills.
• Knowledge of statutory processes including Planning and Development Act and BCA.
• Experience preparing and presenting reports to elected members and budgeting.
