Job summary

Esperance Shire in Esperance, WA, seeks a two-year-term leader to head Development Services (Planning, Building and Environmental Health). You will drive a major subdivision, oversee a Planning Scheme review, and provide strategic direction for a team of nine.

The role entails budget oversight and reporting to Council. The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Town Planning or related fields, strong leadership, and solid knowledge of statutory processes.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Health or Building Surveying.
• Proven experience leading a multi-disciplinary team in a local government setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to advocate, negotiate and mediate.
• Knowledge of statutory processes, including the Planning and Development Act and BCA.
• Experience preparing and presenting reports to elected members and developing budgets.

About the Role
