You will oversee rates, project costs, and terms for consulting services, partnering with Sales to promote strategic offerings and ensure timely customer delivery and satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Red Hat business strategy and economic model.
  • Experience in selling or supporting professional services, including SOWs, pricing, large-scale proposals and client development.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Direct, hands-on people management experience with talent development.
  • Background in customer-facing professional services roles.
  • Knowledge of project management processes and revenue-based reporting.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Sales & Pre-Sales teams to sell and scope Consulting Services solutions.
  • Review proposals by defining needs through client environment and expectations.
  • Obtain internal approvals for each proposal with key stakeholders.
  • Provide a solid delivery platform and ensure successful delivery of outcomes for customers.
  • Grow revenue within accounts by selling and delivering new projects.
  • Oversee revenue, margin, and utilisation targets for the team.
  • Coordinate with Consulting Operations to meet staffing and profitability needs.
  • Build relationships with Red Hat departments and act as trusted advisor to major customers.
  • Create development plans for consultants to enable career progression.

Job Summary

The Red Hat Global Professional Services team is seeking a Manager to join us in Canberra, Australia. In this hybrid leadership role, you will be responsible for two core pillars: the professional development of your team and the commercial success of your region’s professional services sales and delivery. You will lead a section of the ANZ Public Sector Consulting delivery team, focusing on a segment of our Government business within the Canberra region. You will partner with the Sales team to promote sales and business development for Consulting Services across the region to achieve targeted bookings, revenue and margin numbers. You'll propose solutions along with strategic consulting offerings to increase the value of our support services and serve as the main point of contact for customers & delivery needs are met in a timely manner. As a Manager, you will oversee rates, project costs, terms, and conditions for consulting services based on corporate standards and guidelines. Excellent people management skills are key as you will work closely with a team of consultants and help support them to not only provide successful delivery of services to our customers but also provide guidance to help them further develop and excel in their own careers.

Primary job responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Pre-Sales team in the sale and scoping of Consulting Services solutions
  • Review proposals for customers by ensuring all needs are defined through analyzing the customer's environment and expectations
  • Work with internal stakeholders to gain internal approvals for each proposal
  • In consultation with key internal stakeholders (Project Managers, Consultants) work to provide a solid delivery platform and successful delivery of outcomes that enhance our customers business
  • Develop relationships with key business stakeholders to grow revenue within each account by continually selling and delivering new projects
  • Oversee revenue, margin, and utilisation targets for the team
  • Partner with the Consulting Operations team to ensure project staffing and profitability requirements are met
  • Build interpersonal relationships with other Red Hat departments and act as a trusted advisor to major Red Hat customers
  • Create development plans for Consultants to define a pathway by which they can achieve the next stages of their careers
Required skills
  • Understanding of the Red Hat business strategy and economic model; good business insight and judgment
  • Demonstrated expertise in sales or supporting the sales of professional services, including developing statements of work, pricing, large-scale proposal development, and client development
  • Demonstrated ability to build good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Direct, hands‑on experience in people management through managing a team, including a successful track record in talent development within the team
  • Experience in customer‑facing positions as a professional services consultant
  • Knowledge of project management processes and experience with revenue‑based project reporting
  • Excellent cross‑functional communication skills

Candidates will need to be located in Canberra, Australia

Candidates must be an Australian citizen and security clearance is preferred
