What you’ll do

This role manages the day-to-day execution and coordination of climate and nature programs to deliver the Group's multi-year sustainability strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Key focus areas include improving animal welfare standards, sustainable sourcing, supporting Net Zero (FLAG) targets, and building supply chain climate resilience.

  • Monitor and continually improve Group Animal Welfare standards across supply chains (meat, dairy, poultry, eggs) and support ongoing implementation with Commercial teams
  • Support the delivery of Net Zero (FLAG) programs and interconnected supply chain resilience across key agricultural sourcing commodities like meat.
  • Continuously assess and improve the approach to nature, supporting sustainable sourcing and nature frameworks, policies, and risk assessments across priority supply chains.
  • Support the preparation of accurate and high-quality reporting, communication materials, and updates for senior leaders regarding climate and nature priorities and risks
  • Monitor the media, policy, and regulatory environment related to climate and environment, supporting policy submissions and engagement as required
What you’ll bring
  • Strong practical knowledge of sustainable farming systems, evolving domestic animal welfare standards, and integrating programs across commercial supply chains. Expertise in meat is highly desirable
  • 3-5 years of success in environmental or project management within a complex corporate environment, with a track record of leading multiple fast-paced assignments
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills to work through complex information into clear, commercial recommendations, supported by exceptional stakeholder communication and relationship-building.
  • A broad understanding of key climate and nature impacts across the food value chain, including transport, food waste, different sectors of agriculture, and processing.
What You’ll Experience
  • A commitment to flexibility through a hybrid working model which combines time spent at a support office or hub and time working from home, supporting both in-person connection and balancing the flexibility that remote working provides for our teams
  • Opportunity to Salary Sacrifice, enabling team members to purchase selected eligible items or services from pre-tax salary. Can be used for novated leases, superannuation contributions, Qantas Club membership, computing devices etc
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers . Woolworths Group will also continue to pay superannuation for up to 12 months (subject to relevant caps) while the Team Member is on parental leave (paid or unpaid).
  • Provisions for various leave types, including but not limited to Emergency Services Leave, Study Leave, Australian Defence Force Leave, and Sports Representation Leave.
