Job summary

City of Playford Council invites applications for a senior leadership role overseeing civil infrastructure maintenance. You will lead planning, delivery and quality across roads, footpaths and stormwater, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement to support a growing city.

You will manage budgets, procurement and contractor performance while guiding strategic service delivery and sustainable asset management.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or significant experience in civil infrastructure maintenance, delivery and asset management.

The Opportunity
  • Work in collaboration with a large group of Planning, Engineering and Asset Management Officers
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, professional development and alignment with organisational values.
  • Provide strategic leadership across service delivery, maintenance planning, programs, resources and operational performance to ensure community expectations are met.
  • Lead the delivery of civil infrastructure maintenance programs across roads, stormwater, footpaths and related assets.
  • Provide technical leadership and credibility in civil infrastructure management while championing a strong safety culture, WHS compliance and proactive risk management.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and service delivery excellence through effective planning, measurement and resource allocation.
  • Oversee budgets, procurement activities, contractor performance and customer service outcomes to deliver value for money and quality community outcomes.
Who you are
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or significant experience in civil infrastructure maintenance, delivery and asset management.
  • An experienced people leader who creates a positive culture, develops capability and holds teams accountable for performance and outcomes.
  • Highly capable in civil infrastructure maintenance, construction and asset management, with the technical credibility to guide operational decision-making.
  • Experienced in strategic planning, service delivery, program management and resource optimisation within a complex operational environment.
  • A confident decision-maker with strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills.
  • Passionate about safety, accountability, customer service and delivering value to the community.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, including budget management, procurement, contractor oversight and efficient allocation of resources.
