Join an established mid-sized Sydney accounting and advisory firm with just under 100 staff across Business Services, Tax and Audit.

The firm has a strong private client focus, with approximately 80–90% of its client base comprising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family groups.

Clients include complex structures across companies, trusts, superannuation, investments and operating businesses, with some family groups holding $1–$5 billion in net wealth.

The firm has a strong history of staff retention and internal progression, including Partners who have developed through the business from cadet level.

Position Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced Business Services Manager to join a $2 million team in the Sydney CBD.

Reporting directly to the team leader, you will manage and develop five junior accountants at Senior 2 level and below, while gradually taking ownership of a portfolio of sophisticated private clients.

The role will involve:

• Managing, mentoring and developing five junior team members
• Coordinating workflow and supporting the delivery of client work
• Building relationships with sophisticated private clients and family groups
• Working across complex companies, trusts, super funds and investment structures
• Taking on increasing portfolio responsibility as you develop within the team
• Working closely with senior leadership on complex client matters

The successful candidate will initially take responsibility for a smaller portion of fees, with approximately $400k of additional fees potentially available to transition across as their capability and confidence grow.

Requirements

• Around 8 years of Australian public practice experience preferred
• Strong Business Services experience
• Previous staff management or supervisory experience
• Experience managing and developing junior accountants
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• Experience with sophisticated private clients or ultra-high-net-worth family groups highly regarded
