Job summary

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing in Melbourne seeks a Manager to lead a team delivering a shared, cross-portfolio view of system performance and emerging risk to strengthen insights, oversight and improvement practices with the community sector.

Working with internal and external stakeholders, the role will oversee system mapping, indicators of system health and risk intelligence, and the escalation of cross-task risks to enable early intervention and informed decisions.

• Lead and coordinate the preparation and delivery of authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to ministers, the Secretary and other senior stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research, evidence, and stakeholder consultation.
• Identity, monitor and report on high priority system wide issues, risks and trends and prepare and present related verbal and written advice and reports.
• Escalate cross-program system risks as appropriate.

THE ROLEThe Manager will lead a team providing a shared, cross-portfolio view of system performance and emerging risk, enabling early intervention and informed decisions to strengthen the department's system insights, oversight and improvement practices with the community sector.Utilising a deep understanding of the human services and social services system and working with internal and external stakeholders across department and the sector, the Manager will lead a team, fostering improved system performance and sustainability through activities such as:System mapping and client flow analyses across major programsProducing indicators of system health and pressureUndertaking Integrated market and regional risk intelligence (including provider sustainability)Escalation of cross-program system risksThe role operates within a dynamic environment that requires a capacity to exercise sound judgement, work with a high degree of autonomy, and proactively develop effective relationships with stakeholders.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDELead and coordinate the preparation and delivery of authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to ministers, the Secretary and other senior stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research, evidence, and stakeholder consultation.Identity, monitor and report on high priority system wide issues, risks and trends and prepare and present related verbal and written advice and reports.Escalate cross-program system risks as appropriate.Please open the position description to read more.HOW TO APPLYApplicants are encouraged to apply online.
