Job summary

Silk Logistics is seeking a Management Accountant to join our Port Melbourne-based Finance team. You will prepare management reports, conduct variance analysis and support budgeting and forecasting to drive business performance across our national Contract Logistics units.

Working with operations and the national Finance team, you will provide financial insights, support decision-making, ensure robust controls and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic logistics

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualified, or currently working towards qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar management accounting role.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial reporting skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial systems; Oracle Financials and/or Microsoft Great Plains experience will be highly regarded.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; experience in logistics or supply chain operations is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports, including detailed variance analysis across national Contract Logistics business units.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and financial modelling to support business planning and performance.
• Provide financial insights to operational teams, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and financial reporting requirements.
• Support audit processes and statutory compliance, including GST, FBT and income tax reporting.
• Collaborate with the national Finance team and key stakeholders to improve financial processes and support informed business decisions.
