Job summary

Harwell Consulting is helping a growing private group on the Gold Coast recruit a Management Accountant. You will report to the head of finance and oversee day‑to‑day finance, with a clear path to becoming the finance lead’s right hand.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification required.
• 3–6 years’ post-grad experience across management accounting, month-end, reconciliations and accruals.
• Strong attention to detail and a high-ownership mindset.
• Advanced Excel and cloud accounting experience.
• Multi-entity group experience; property, construction or investment group experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and management reporting across the group.
• Prepare budget vs actual analysis and variance commentary.
• Prepare reporting for banks and financiers.
• Track spend against budget and raise variances early.
• Manage BAS, payroll and statutory compliance.
• Act as the main finance contact for external accountants and auditors.
• Oversee bookkeeping support and improve reporting processes.

The role
