Job summary

The Co Accountants & Business Advisors Pty Ltd – Greensborough VIC is seeking a Management Accountant with 3+ years in a finance role. You will run payroll, manage accounts payable, prepare monthly management accounts and monitor cash flow for multiple entities.

In a fast-moving construction-adjacent group, you’ll drive process improvements and provide timely financial insights. CPA/CA qualification or progress is expected, along with strong Xero and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualified, or well progressed towards completion.
• 3+ years' experience in a management accounting or finance role.
• Experience in multi-entity or group structures is advantageous.
• Hands-on payroll and accounts payable experience.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll across all entities, including timesheets and compliance.
• Own accounts payable; manage invoicing, approvals and supplier reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Monitor cash flow and assist budgeting/forecasting.
• Maintain Xero records and liaise with external accountants.

The Co Accountants & Business Advisors Pty Ltd – Greensborough VIC

Our client, who is in the construction industry, is looking for a Management Accountant to join their team.

Key responsibilities

• Process and manage end-to-end payroll across all entities, including timesheets, superannuation, PAYG withholding and compliance with relevant awards/agreements
• Own accounts payable and bill management — invoice processing, approval workflows, payment runs, supplier reconciliations and query resolution
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Monitor and report on cash flow across the group, flagging risks and opportunities
• Support budgeting and forecasting
• Maintain accurate, well-controlled financial records and ledgers in Xero
• Liaise with the group's external accountants, auditors and advisors as required
• Identify and implement process, systems and technology improvements as the business grows
• Provide timely financial insight to support day-to-day and strategic decision-making

About you

• CPA/CA qualified, or well progressed towards completion
• 3+ years' experience in a management accounting or finance role, ideally across multiple entities or a group structure
• Experience in construction or similar project-based industry is highly regarded
• Hands-on, current experience running payroll and accounts payable
• Strong working knowledge of Xero, plus advanced Excel skills
• Comfortable getting the best out of accounting and payroll systems, add-ons and reporting tools, and quick to pick up and champion new technology
