Job summary

GeoDrill Australia on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to take broad responsibility across financial reporting, payroll, cashflow management and cost control. This hands-on role partners with leaders to deliver meaningful insights and supports the path to becoming Financial Controller.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or similar is required.
• Minimum five years' experience in a Management Accountant or Senior Assistant Accountant role.
• Strong experience with month-end reporting, payroll, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist with monthly management reporting and financial analysis.
• Coordinate payroll and ensure legislative compliance.
• Manage bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain cashflow forecasts and support financial schedules.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and project costing.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes.
• Work with Xero and integrated finance systems, including AI-enabled finance processes.
• Provide financial support to operational managers across the business.

As our business continues to expand, we're looking for an experienced Management Accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Reporting directly to our Chief Executive Officer, this role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, payroll, cashflow management, systems optimisation and commercial decision-making, with a genuine pathway to becoming our future Financial Controller.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position where you'll work across all aspects of the finance function while partnering with leaders throughout the business to provide meaningful financial insights and support.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing month-end journals, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
• Assisting with monthly management reporting and financial analysis
• Coordinating payroll and ensuring legislative compliance

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys improving processes just as much as producing accurate financial reports.

You'll bring:

• A Degree in Accounting, Commerce or similar
• Minimum five years' experience in a Management Accountant or Senior Assistant Accountant role
• Strong experience with month-end reporting, payroll, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail
• Strong systems capability and confidence working with technology
• A proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset
• Experience within construction, mining, contracting or project-based industries will be highly regarded.
