Job summary

Chosen Family is seeking a compassionate Male Disability Support Worker to assist a 50-year-old male participant in Erskineville, NSW. You will help him engage with the community, attend events, and build social connections in a person-centred, trauma-informed manner.

Ideal candidates are experienced with psychosocial disabilities, patient, respectful, and comfortable providing transport and driving to activities. WWCC, NDIS check, First Aid, and a valid Australian driver’s licence are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities.
• LGBTIQ+ awareness or connection is preferred.
• Patience, calmness and respect when supporting someone living with mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Support the participant to access and participate in the local community.
• Accompany the participant to events, appointments, and social opportunities.
• Provide reliable, person-centred support and maintain progress notes.
