Job summary

PPG Industries in Clayton, Melbourne area, is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our Electrical and Maintenance team. You will repair, modify and install equipment to keep the production line running and ensure product availability for customers.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, prior experience in industrial manufacturing or FMCG, and the ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment and document maintenance procedures effectively.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a maintenance mechanic in industrial manufacturing, FMCG or a similar environment.
• Experience working in Hazardous Area is preferred.
• This position requires a strong electrical mechanical aptitude.
• Prior experience in manufacturing and plant maintenance is required.
• Knowledge of industrial production and utility equipment operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify and install equipment to maintain and operate the facility.
• Determine and perform required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating)
• Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing machines and equipment and ordering/installing replacement parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems
• Perform equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)
• Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.
• Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Understand basic electrical and pneumatic diagrams
• Perform all tasks associated with troubleshooting equipment.
• Perform all tasks associated with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Accurately maintains records and reports as required.
