Job summary

Snowy Hydro is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Electrical to join the Operations team in Jindabyne, NSW. This full-time, on-site role focuses on installing, overhauling and maintaining generating plant, auxiliary equipment and hydraulic structures to maximise asset availability.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Electrical Trade with at least 5 years post-trade experience, and can plan, prioritise work and supervise electrical apprentices while ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Electrical Trade required or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years post-trade experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation, testing, commissioning and monitoring procedures.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise work and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Install, overhaul and test generating plant, auxiliary equipment and structures.
  • Carry out electrical tasks to support the maintenance plan.
  • Participate in commissioning & recommissioning after installation or overhaul.
  • Maintain records using maintenance management systems.
  • Be an ambassador for safety on site.

About The Position

An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Technician - Electrical to join our Operations team in Jindabyne, NSW.

As an electrical tradesperson you will be responsible for installing, overhauling and conducting routine and breakdown maintenance for all mechanical features of generating sets, auxiliary plant and outlying hydraulic structures including isolating the plant, where competent / authorised, to contribute to achieving the required availability and reliability of Snowy Hydro assets.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to a Maintenance Team Leader you will:

  • Install, overhaul and test generating plant, auxiliary, outlying equipment and structures
  • Carry out electrical tasks on time to ensure the delivery of the maintenance plan.
  • Participate in commissioning & recommissioning following installation or overhaul of equipment
  • Conduct routine and breakdown maintenance on generating plant, auxiliary plant, outlying equipment and structures and identify report and repair defects
  • Maintain records by completing all administrative requirements and utilising the maintenance management systems
  • Be an ambassador for Safety, by maintaining the highest standards
About the location:

This position is a full time, 100% on site role, based in Jindabyne, working a 9 day fortnight. Relocation assistance can be provided if you're interested in relocating to the Snowy Mountains Area.

About You
  • A Certificate III in Electrical Trade, or an equivalent qualification, ideally with a minimum of 5 years post trade experience
  • Sound knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning and monitoring procedures and work methods
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to develop and supervise Electrical apprentices
  • Good IT skills, including Google suite and Maintenance Management systems
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant standards and regulations
  • Capability to plan, prioritise work and meet deadlines
