Job summary

My Muscle Chef, based in Sydney, seeks a multi-skilled Maintenance Technician (Fitter & Electrician) to maintain production, packaging, and automated equipment across sites. The role focuses on safe operations, preventive maintenance, and rapid fault resolution to minimise downtime.

You will handle mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and basic automation tasks, with responsibilities including responding to breakdowns, recording maintenance, and coordinating with production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capability.
• Electrical fault-finding experience within licence and competency.
• Experience with conveyors, packaging machinery and automated equipment.
• Knowledge of motors, VSDs, sensors, pneumatics and basic PLC/automation systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance across production, packaging, conveyors and warehouse equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Pick-to-Light systems, conveyors, carton sealers and automated handling equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control-system faults within your licence and competency.
• Troubleshoot motors, VSDs, sensors, safety circuits, PLC-controlled equipment and control systems.
• Assist with installation, relocation and commissioning of equipment; support continuous improvement initiatives.

About the role:

This role will be from Monday to Friday starting at 12:00pm till 8:00pm based across our MYMC sites.

We are seeking a multi-skilled maintenance technician (Fitter & Electrician). The Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of production, packaging, warehouse and automated material-handling equipment.

The role requires strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills, supported by electrical, pneumatic and basic automation capabilities. The technician will respond to breakdowns, complete preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment faults and support continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities but not limited too:

• Perform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance across production, packaging, conveyor and warehouse equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Pick-to-Light systems, conveyors, carton sealers, pallet wrappers and automated material-handling equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control-system faults within the individual's licence and competency.
• Troubleshoot motors, VSDs, sensors, photo-eyes, safety circuits, PLC-controlled equipment and control systems.
• Assist with installation, relocation, commissioning and improvement of new and existing equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports and preventative maintenance activities through the CMMS.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, contractors and equipment suppliers to safely restore equipment and maintain operational performance.

Skills & Experience:

• Relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Electrical, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capability.
• Electrical fault-finding experience within licence and competency.
• Experience with conveyors, packaging machinery and automated equipment.
• Knowledge of motors, VSDs, sensors, pneumatics and basic PLC/automation systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Relevant licences such as electrical, forklift, EWP or working-at-heights are desirable where applicable.
