Job summary

Beerenberg is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their production environment in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.

You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical breakdowns, and carry out scheduled maintenance across plant equipment and facilities, ensuring QA, HACCP, and OHS compliance. CMMS experience (MEX) and a safety-first mindset are essential, with additional accreditations considered favorable.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing, production, or heavy mechanical repair.
• Background in mechanical, electrical, or building maintenance systems.
• Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and fault-finding capabilities.
• Forklift license, Working at Heights and Scissor Lift accreditations are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-floor maintenance to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical breakdowns during production runs.
• Execute scheduled preventative and reactive maintenance across plant equipment, buildings, and site infrastructure.
• Ensure all activities align with QA, HACCP, Food Safety, and OHS guidelines.
• Utilise CMMS (e.g. MEX) to update records and manage inventory.
• Collaborate with production supervisors, machine operators, and external service providers to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate, on-the-floor maintenance support during production runs to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical breakdowns swiftly, minimising downtime.
• Execute scheduled preventative and reactive maintenance programs across plant equipment, machinery, buildings, and site infrastructure.
• Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities strictly align with QA, HACCP, Food Safety, and OHS guidelines.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS such as MEX) to accurately update records and manage inventory.
• Collaborate closely with production supervisors, machine operators, and external service providers to drive operational efficiency.

About You

• Strong technical background covering mechanical, electrical, or building maintenance systems.

• Physical fitness to handle unrestricted bending, lifting, standing, and manual tasks.
• Highly desirable: A current Forklift High Risk licence, Working at Heights and Scissor Lift accreditations, a tertiary mechanical trade qualification, and basic quality/OHS training.
