Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for its site in Kewdale, Western Australia. You will lead a technical team in performing reactive and proactive maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently.

You will supervise maintenance technicians, deliver preventive maintenance programs, manage safety initiatives, and coordinate with contractors to ensure smooth facility operation. The role requires strong leadership, trades background, and experience with automation and material handling

Qualifications

• Formal trade qualifications and relevant licences; electrical or mechanical trade background.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, FMCG, manufacturing or logistics.
• Leadership experience supervising multi-trade teams in fast-paced environments.
• Experience mentoring and developing technicians.
• Experience in automation or material handling equipment environments.
• Experience using CMMS to plan proactive maintenance and record tasks.
• Experience in contractor management.

In this role, you will lead a technical team in carrying out reactive and proactive maintenance activities, repairing and maintaining the machinery that keeps Amazon running.

Key job responsibilities

• Supervise and lead Maintenance Technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals.
• Deliver and maintain Preventive Maintenance programs, building compliance programs, including facility and contractor management.
• Act as an ambassador for safety within the team and to promote safe working across the site.
• Manage maintenance related purchase orders to maximise smooth facility operation and control of critical spare and store inventory to ensure adequate stock levels for maintenance.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all MHE systems including power distribution, automated material handling equipment, conveyance, and all other operational equipment.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organisation, including regular attendance to site leadership meetings and steering committees.

A day in the life

As Maintenance Supervisor, you'll lead a team of 4 Technicians (fitters and electricians). During each shift, you'll lead the team in executing preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime. You'll maintain a strong focus on safety by monitoring processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.

Basic Qualifications

• Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate lll in Electrotechnology OR Cert III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner) with valid Electrical Mechanic/ Electrical Fitter licence. Alternatively, equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia including valid licence.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, FMCG, manufacturing and/or logistics.
• Leadership experience in supervising multi-trade teams in a fast paced industrial manufacturing/distribution center environment.
• Experience in mentoring and developing technicians.
• Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments.
• Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
• Experience in contractor management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of programmable logic controls (PLC) programming
• Experience of multi-contractor management
• Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements
