Job summary

JBS Australia, located near Ipswich in southeast Queensland, seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead Mechanical Fitters and Electricians in supporting safe, reliable production across the facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will drive maintenance activities, oversee breakdown responses, and champion continuous improvement in a large-scale meat processing environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Electrical, or a related discipline.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within manufacturing, food processing, meat processing or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, equipment reliability and preventative maintenance practices.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a large-scale production environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• A strong commitment to safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
• The ability to build positive working relationships across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership to the maintenance team, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance activities are carried out safely and with minimal disruption to production.
• Coordinate breakdown response and fault-finding activities.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and drive reliability improvements.
• Balance operational demands with planning and resource allocation to meet site performance goals.
• Coach and develop tradespeople and apprentices, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
