Job summary

Carpentaria is a not-for-profit organisation delivering Disability and Therapy Services across a range of programs. This role involves general maintenance, repairs and grounds work across properties you will manage or support.

The ideal candidate will have maintenance experience in carpentry, plumbing and grounds tasks, a relevant trade background, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in repairs and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing and grounds maintenance.
• Background in a relevant trade or similar role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure quality work.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in maintenance and grounds work.
• Capacity to undertake manual tasks including heavy lifting and outdoor work.
• Proficiency with email and maintenance service request systems.

Job description

Your new role

This position performs general maintenance, repairs, various manual tasks and grounds maintenance across Carpentaria owned, leased, and managed properties.

The ideal candidate

• Experience in various repairs and maintenance tasks including basic carpentry, plumbing and grounds maintenance,
• Prior experience in a similar role or background in a relevant trade
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and to a high standard with limited supervision
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality work
• Familiarity with tools and equipment commonly used in maintenance, general repairs and grounds maintenance
• The capacity to undertake manual tasks including heavy lifting and working outdoors for extended periods of time
• Sound level of computer literacy, with the ability to confidently utilise email and other electronic applications such as maintenance service request systems
• Current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, NDIS Worker Orientation, First Aid & CPR Certificate and NT Driver Licence.
