Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) in Lavington NSW is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to keep our aged care facilities safe, comfortable, and welcoming for residents.

Based mainly at Lavington Residential Aged Care and Palm Villa Independent Living, you will perform general maintenance (electrical, plumbing, carpentry), maintain gardens, complete planned works, and support WHS practices.

Formación

• Experience in maintenance within retirement living or aged care (preferred).
• Background in building, plumbing, welding, fitter & turner or similar (desirable).
• Basic to intermediate technology skills on a mobile, laptop and desktop.

Responsabilidades

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building work).
• Maintaining outdoor spaces with gardening and grounds maintenance.
• Completing planned preventive maintenance in line with site schedules.
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests across your designated areas.
• Monitoring maintenance works to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Actively contributing to Work Health & Safety practices.

The Opportunity

Full-Time Maintenance Officer | Lavington Residential Aged Care & Palm Villa Independent Living

Join our dedicated team and make a meaningful difference every day. We're seeking a hands-on and dependable Maintenance Officer who takes pride in creating safe, comfortable, and welcoming environments for our residents. Based primarily at our Lavington Residential Aged Care home (4 days per week) and supporting Palm Villa Independent Living Units (1 day per week), you'll play an essential role in ensuring our facilities, gardens, and living spaces are maintained to the highest standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out general maintenance and repairs (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building work)
• Keeping our outdoor spaces looking their best with gardening and grounds maintenance, mowing, hedging, sweeping, hosing and general upkeep
• Completing planned preventative maintenance in line with site schedules
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests across your designated areas
• Monitoring maintenance works to ensure regulatory compliance
• Actively contributing to Work Health & Safety practices

What You’ll Bring

• Basic to intermediate technology skills on a mobile, laptop and desktop
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience in maintenance within retirement living or aged care (preferred)
• Background in building, plumbing, welding, fitter & turner or similar (desirable)
