Job summary

Encore Tissue is seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Technician to join the Tissue Mill and Converting Plants in Laverton North. This permanent role is 38 hours per week with day shifts, Monday to Friday.

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot pneumatics and hydraulics, weld and fabricate as required, and collaborate with operations to maximise uptime and product quality. A current Australian driver’s license, forklift and EWP licenses are required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in welding and basic fabrication.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with analytical reasoning.

About the role
This is a permanent role working in the Tissue Mill and Converting Plants, based in Laverton North, 38 hours per week, day shifts, Monday to Friday.

The key responsibilities of this role include and not limited to:

Commit and comply to company's safety and environmental policies, safe work practices, work procedures, regulations and standards.

Perform maintenance tasks to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability of the Tissue Mill, Converting Plants and their associated equipment.

Execute scheduled preventative maintenance strategies in a timely manner to ensure maximum machine safety and reliability.

Work collaboratively with the operations and maintenance teams to achieve business objectives.

Respond to breakdowns and failures to ensure maximum capabilities in uptime, product conformance and throughput across the plants.

Assist in the implementation, installations, plant improvements and modifications to equipment / plants in continuous improvement activities.

About you

Trade Qualification.

Minimum 3 years experienced in manufacturing industry.

Experienced in welding and basic fabrications.

Experienced with pneumatics and hydraulics.

Excellent troubleshooting skills with analytical reasoning and logical decision-making ability.

Positive can-do attitude, possess a sense of urgency.

Work collaboratively in teams and able to work autonomously.

A current Australian Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.

Current forklift and elevated work platform (EWP) license.

Confined Space and/or Dogging qualification would be advantageous.

Good written and verbal communication skills

Numeracy and computer skills are advantageous

Previous experiences in paper, board, tissue, converting industry and equipment would be advantageous.
