Job summary

Kennards Hire in Sydney is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic on a permanent full-time basis to maintain and repair a range of diesel and petrol powered equipment, ensuring reliability and ready-for-hire performance. The role requires trade qualifications, at least 3 years' experience, and the ability to work independently or in a team, with strong planning, communication, and computer skills.

A valid driver's licence is a must.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified as a diesel mechanic, diesel fitter, light vehicle mechanic or similar trade.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance or repair of heavy equipment.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and able to work in a team or autonomously.
• Strong time management and planning skills to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and proactive information sharing with the team.
• Comfort using computers and mobile devices for emails and basic transactional tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair diesel and petrol powered equipment to Kennards Ready for Hire standards.
• Perform servicing on customer sites and ensure equipment remains fit for purpose.
• Prepare documentation for all servicing and maintenance for compliance records.

About the role

• The Maintenance Mechanic provides customers with an exceptional level of service through maintenance/repair of a range of diesel and petrol powered equipment to exacting standards
• Repair and maintain equipment (primarily petrol/gasoline and diesel engine equipment) to required standards so as to ensure our customers receive reliable and fit for-purpose plant and equipment.
• Perform servicing maintenance on the customer site as required, and documentation to render equipment serviceable in accordance with Kennards "Ready for Hire"
  Quality Operational Management (QOM) standards
• Prepare all required documentation for all servicing and maintenance performed for compliance record keeping

About you

• Trade qualified. This may be as a diesel mechanic, diesel fitter, light vehicle mechanic, small engine mechanic, electrician, or similar trades.
• At least 3 years' experience in the field
• A proven ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and work conditions including the ability to both work as part of a team and to work autonomously to complete tasks within required timeframes
• Time management skills including the ability to plan ahead and reschedule in accordance with changes in priorities
• Strong communication skills including the ability to follow directions, ask questions to ensure understanding, and proactively provide information to team members
• The ability to confidently use computers and mobile devices for email, internet and basic transactional processing.
• A level of physical fitness as required to complete role requirements
• A valid drivers' licence
