Job summary

Edge Drilling is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance, asset management, workshop and inventory across drilling operations in WA. You will oversee preventative and corrective programs, manage a workshop team, and ensure equipment availability and safety compliance.

Ideal candidates are trade-qualified maintenance professionals with strong leadership, asset planning and cost-control experience, familiar with drilling equipment and maintenance systems, and holding

Qualifications

  • Trade-qualified maintenance professional with leadership experience.
  • Experience in mining, drilling, or heavy industry preferred.
  • Strong asset management and maintenance planning capabilities.
  • Ability to lead teams and contractors and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs across rigs and equipment.
  • Lead workshop, maintenance and stores personnel.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and asset lifecycle plans.
  • Manage inventory, critical spares and procurement activities.
  • Monitor equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM, statutory and client requirements.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and cost-control initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to operations teams.
  • Maintain accurate plant, certification and maintenance records.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and asset management.

Lead Maintenance Excellence in a Growing Drilling Business

Edge Drilling is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance, asset management, workshop, and inventory functions across our drilling operations.

This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager and is responsible for ensuring our fleet of drilling rigs, support equipment, and assets are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, quality, and operational performance.

About the Role

As Maintenance Manager, you will oversee all maintenance and asset management activities, ensuring equipment availability, workshop efficiency, compliance, and cost-effective operations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing preventative and corrective maintenance programs across drilling rigs, support equipment and mobile plant
  • Leading workshop, maintenance and stores personnel
  • Developing maintenance schedules and asset lifecycle plans
  • Managing inventory, critical spares and procurement activities
  • Monitoring equipment performance and reducing downtime
  • Ensuring compliance with OEM, statutory and client requirements
  • Managing maintenance budgets and cost-control initiatives
  • Providing technical support and subject matter expertise to operations teams
  • Maintaining accurate plant, certification and maintenance records
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and asset management functions

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated safely and efficiently

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance leadership within mining, drilling, construction, heavy industry or related sectors
  • Strong asset management and maintenance planning experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams and contractors
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Sound budgeting and cost-management capability
  • Current HR Driver's Licence
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems
  • Experience working on drilling equipment
  • Frontline Management qualification or equivalent
  • Section 26 Certification or demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation
  • Experience with Safety Culture or similar maintenance systems
