Job summary

CAE designs and delivers advanced training solutions for defence aviation. The Maintenance Manager will lead maintenance and support across multiple sites, ensuring device availability and compliance with aviation authorities.

You will drive resource planning, budgets and continuous improvement while building a skilled, compliant team capable of meeting contractual obligations in a defence environment.

Qualifications

  • Senior maintenance leadership experience in regulated environments.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in highly regulated settings.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation maintenance compliance and quality management systems.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, schedules and performance.
  • Experience with regulatory audits, qualifications and requalifications.

  • Ability to work across multiple sites and priorities.
  • Need to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Role Overview

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of maintenance and support personnel, maintenance training and development, supply support operations, budget management, and operational maintenance requirements of CAE's training devices across multiple sites. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of maintenance and supply support services that enable end-user training outcomes within time, cost, quality, and regulatory requirements. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, maintain regulatory certifications, oversee operational performance, and ensure CAE meets its contractual obligations under the ASIST program. This is an opportunity to lead a high-performing maintenance function supporting advanced synthetic training systems used in defence aviation training environments.

Description

Lead and coordinate maintenance and supply support operations across multiple sites to ensure training device availability and customer training success. Manage maintenance resources, schedules, budgets and priorities to meet contractual, operational and regulatory requirements. Ensure training devices maintain certification and compliance with applicable aviation regulatory authorities including CASA, EASA, FAA and UK CAA. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance, quality, safety and operational performance. Develop and lead a skilled workforce through training, performance management, coaching and succession planning. Monitor operational metrics, maintenance performance and costs, taking corrective action to achieve business and customer outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior maintenance leadership or maintenance management role.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams within highly regulated operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of aviation maintenance compliance, certification and quality management systems.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, schedules and operational performance.
  • Experience working with regulatory authorities and supporting audits, qualifications and requalifications.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and performance management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and priorities in a complex operational environment.
  • Ability to work at our Homebush, NSW site in an on-site full-time capacity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting flight simulation training devices or synthetic training systems.
  • Previous experience within Defence, aerospace or aviation training environments.
  • Technical qualifications in aviation maintenance, engineering or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of supply support and logistics operations.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
Location: Homebush, NSW Your role may involve some national travel.
