Job summary

MLG Oz in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Leading Hand – Workshop to join our high-performing teams on WA projects. You will lead workshop teams, drive performance and ensure safe, efficient maintenance operations across our sites.

You'll mentor apprentices, support trades, and uphold strong safety standards while keeping heavy mobile equipment including CAT/Komatsu gear running at peak. This permanent, full-time role offers FIFO rosters from anywhere in Australia.

Qualifications

• HD Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate is required.
• Supervisor Section 26 is required.
• Valid HR+ Driver's Licence is preferred.
• Experience leading tradespeople and apprentices.
• Strong organisation, time management and people skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance systems.

THE ROLE

Working closely with our Workshop Managers, you’ll play a key role in leading workshop teams, driving performance and ensuring safe, efficient maintenance operations across our WA projects.

You’ll be responsible for supporting trades teams, mentoring apprentices, maintaining high safety standards and helping keep our heavy mobile equipment operating at its best.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

To be successful, you’ll have:

• HD Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate
• Supervisor Section 26
• Valid Driver’s Licence — HR+ highly regarded
• Proven experience leading tradespeople and apprentices
• Strong organisation, time management and people skills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and maintenance systems
