Job summary

Thiess is seeking an experienced Maintenance Leading Hand for Olive Downs Complex in the Bowen Basin, QLD. The role focuses on supervising maintenance teams, ensuring servicing and repairs follow Thiess procedures, and coordinating parts and information flow daily.

With a strong emphasis on health and safety, you will support supervisors, work cross-functionally, and contribute to a high-performing mining operation at Olive Downs.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent.
• Current Standard 11.
• Current S123 and RIIRIS402EG2.

Responsibilities

• Lead a skilled mobile maintenance team following Supervisors’ and Superintendents’ directives.
• Fulfil the Maintenance Supervisors’ duties in their absence.
• Perform servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment per Thiess systems.
• Source technical information from manuals, bulletins, and computer systems.
• Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel.
• Source and requisition parts via proper ordering procedures.
