Job summary

Monaghan Fresh Produce in Coragulac, VIC 3249 is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Hand to join our team. This full-time role focuses on keeping our machinery, facilities and infrastructure well maintained to support safe, efficient operations.

You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, report faults, assist with repairs, maintain tidy work areas and follow health and safety procedures while learning from experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or related trades preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools with safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical fitness for manual labour including lifting and heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery, equipment, and production facilities.
• Identify and report faults, malfunctions, and maintenance issues to supervisor or management.
• Carry out repairs and component replacements under guidance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of maintenance areas and tool storage.
• Assist with general facility maintenance including painting and minor construction work.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and work completed.
• Support more experienced staff and learn new skills as required.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent repair needs.

Monaghan Fresh Produce is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Hand to join our team in Coragulac, VIC 3249. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in keeping our operations running smoothly. As a Maintenance Hand, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, facilities, and infrastructure across our fresh produce operations. This role is essential to ensuring our production processes operate efficiently and safely, directly supporting our commitment to delivering quality produce to our customers.

Key responsibilities

Performing routine maintenance and inspections on machinery, equipment, and production facilities

Identifying and reporting equipment faults, malfunctions, and maintenance issues to the maintenance supervisor or management team

Carrying out repairs and replacements of worn or damaged components under guidance and direction

Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of maintenance areas, tool storage, and work spaces

Assisting with general facility maintenance, including painting, fixing, and minor construction work

Following all health, safety, and environmental procedures and protocols at all times

Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities and work completed

Supporting more experienced maintenance staff and learning new skills as required

Responding promptly to maintenance requests and urgent repair needs

What we're looking for

Previous experience in maintenance, handyperson work, or a related trades role is preferred

Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools, with the ability to use them safely and effectively

A strong understanding of health and safety principles and a commitment to following all safety procedures

The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour, including lifting and working at heights when required

Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic

Clear communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Relevant qualifications or certifications in trades or maintenance work would be advantageous
