Job summary

Bright Beginnings Learning Centres is seeking a Building Maintenance Officer/Handyman for a permanent full-time role across Sydney's south and western suburbs. You will maintain safe, welcoming facilities for children, families and staff, travel between sites, and handle a variety of repairs and upkeep tasks.

The role requires hands-on experience, reliability and the ability to work across multiple centres with a flexible schedule, including weekends when required.

Qualifications

• Proven handyman/maintenance experience with basic carpentry, plastering and painting.
• Valid Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle to travel between sites.
• Own set of professional maintenance tools for day-to-day tasks.
• Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain to work around children.
• Strong problem solving and ability to work independently across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• General Building Maintenance & Repairs: handle day-to-day tasks including minor carpentry, plaster patching and paint touch-ups.
• Painting & Patchwork: undertake painting projects from spot fixes to larger refreshes with smooth finishes.
• Garden & Outdoor Maintenance: maintain gardens and outdoor learning spaces for children.
• Multi-Site Travel: travel between centres to provide maintenance support.
• Health & Safety Compliance: ensure facilities meet guidelines and regulatory requirements.
