Job summary

South West Healthcare is seeking a hands-on Handyman to join Camperdown Hospital with some work at our Lismore campus. You will perform garden maintenance, minor repairs, and general maintenance to keep facilities safe, efficient and well-presented for patients and staff.

The role is permanent full-time, 80 hours per fortnight, with an Accrued Day Off (ADO); part-time and casual applicants will be considered—please specify your preferred hours in your application.

Qualifications

• Experience in gardening, landscaping, and plant care.
• General maintenance skills across a range of trades.
• Experience using, servicing, and maintaining gardening equipment and machinery.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining gardens and grounds through planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, propagating, and leaf blowing.
• Servicing and maintaining gardening equipment and machinery.
• Undertaking a variety of general maintenance tasks, including minor painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical repairs, and HVAC maintenance.
• Helping ensure our facilities remain safe, functional, and well-presented for everyone who uses them.

• Location: Primarily Camperdown Hospital, with some work at our Lismore campus


• Classification: Handyman (Non-Trade)


• Salary: $59,282.60 per annum, pro rata + super

No two days are the same. Your work will include:

• Maintaining gardens and grounds through planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, propagating, and leaf blowing


• Servicing and maintaining gardening equipment and machinery


• Undertaking a variety of general maintenance tasks, including minor painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical repairs, and heating and ventilation maintenance


• Helping ensure our facilities remain safe, functional, and well-presented for everyone who uses them
