Job summary

Purple House is seeking a Maintenance Officer in Alice Springs to perform a range of maintenance tasks across facilities, grounds and fleet. You will support effective operations and ensure safety and compliance in a remote community setting.

The role involves hands-on maintenance, preventative work and coordinating tasks among staff, with opportunities for certification-based duties and remote site support.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a broad range of general maintenance tasks, both reactive and planned, including maintenance, inspections, and repair of buildings and other Purple House assets.
• Perform preventative maintenance across Purple House facilities in Alice Springs and remote locations.
• Complete maintenance and fleet tasks as assigned by managers and coordinators.
• Use data management systems to report property maintenance, inspections, registrations, tracking and repairs of fleet and property assets.
• Organise servicing, repairs, maintenance, and calibration of vehicles and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
• Prioritise workload and manage resources cost-effectively.
• Promote a safe work environment in line with Work Health and Safety guidelines and report incidents and near misses.
• Perform maintenance activities requiring certification (e.g., Tag and Test, fire extinguisher training) as trained.
• Carry out other duties within level and trained capacity.
