Job summary

BlueScope Distribution Pty in Australia’s South Australia is seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter for our Novar Gardens/Lysaght site. This hands-on role covers preventative maintenance, breakdown response and capital projects, working with fitters, electricians and operations to keep equipment safe, reliable and efficient.

The roster may include day or afternoon shifts with shift allowances; overtime opportunities exist and no formal on-call.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified mechanical fitter with relevant experience.
• Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and proactive problem solving.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, permits and safety processes.
• Familiar with maintenance management systems and basic computer apps.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Interact with maintenance management systems and record completed work.
• Assess job risks and apply control measures via JSEAs and permits.
• Isolate equipment and perform corrective maintenance.
• Inspect equipment, identify faults and repair.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and troubleshoot.
• Contribute to shutdown planning and maintenance activities.
• Support upgrades, improvements and capital projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability.
