Chobani Australia is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to maintain, troubleshoot and improve production equipment at our Dandenong South site. You will apply mechanical expertise to reduce downtime and boost reliability while collaborating with Production, Engineering and Quality teams on continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a recognised trade qualification and 5–8 years of maintenance/commissioning experience in high-speed manufacturing, with GMP/HACCP awareness and basic IT skills.

Requirements

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this hands-on Maintenance Fitter role, you’ll maintain, troubleshoot and improve production equipment to support safe and reliable operations. You’ll use your mechanical expertise to identify faults, reduce downtime and improve equipment performance, while working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams on reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and support continuous improvement projects focused on equipment reliability, safety and efficiency.
• Support production and equipment trials, including the implementation and validation of new processes.
• Fabricate, modify, install and adjust equipment to meet project and trial requirements.
• Collect, record and verify machine settings and operational data.
• Use maintenance systems and digital tools to support data integrity and predictive maintenance activities
• Monitor equipment performance and OEE results, identify root causes of losses and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform fault-finding, troubleshooting, planned maintenance and repairs on plant equipment
• Contribute to capital projects supporting new products, and improvements to existing manufacturing processes.
• Maintain a strong safety focus, including compliance with risk management, lockout/tagout, hot work and confined-space requirements
• Provide maintenance coverage and support when required to maintain continuity across the operation.
• Work collaborative with Production, Engineering, Quality, Reliability and Automation teams.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• A recognised Fitter and Turner trade qualification
• Approximately 5 - 8 years' maintenance and commissioning experience within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and plant-maintenance capabilities
• Experience within good and beverage, dairy or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety and quality management systems.
• The ability to investigate problems at their root cause and translate findings into practical solutions.
• Confidence working collaboratively across different operational and technical teams.
• Basic computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office.

A Disconnect/Reconnect Licence and stainless-steel welding or fabrication skills would be highly regarded.
