Job summary

PGH Bricks in Bringelly NSW is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our 24/7 manufacturing site. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and perform preventative and corrective maintenance across production equipment on a Monday to Friday day shift roster with start times at 5:00am or 6:00am.

As a trade-qualified fitter, you will demonstrate fault-finding skills, work with hydraulics and pneumatics, TIG/MIG welding, fabrication and workshop machining.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with fault-finding skills.
• Experience in maintenance within manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Certifications: Confined Space, Working at Heights, First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance, inspections and planned repairs
• Troubleshooting mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns
• Supporting corrective maintenance to minimise downtime
• Maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Fabricating and modifying plant equipment as required
• Welding and mechanical fitting on production assets
• Installing and replacing bearings and other components
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring all maintenance activities meet safety procedures

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join the team at our established PGH Bricks manufacturing site in Bringelly. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting production performance and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently across our 24/7 manufacturing facility.

Working a Monday to Friday day shift roster (5:00am or 6:00am start available), you will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance activities across a range of production equipment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Performing preventative maintenance, inspections and planned repairs
• Troubleshooting mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns
• Supporting corrective maintenance activities to minimise downtime
• Maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Fabricating and modifying plant equipment as required
• Welding and mechanical fitting work across production assets
• Installing and replacing bearings and other mechanical components
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site
• Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures

About You

You are a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with strong fault-finding skills and experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, mining, machinery, automotive or other heavy industry environment.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Experience in a Maintenance Fitter or similar role
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Welding experience (TIG and MIG)
• Fabrication skills and experience using workshop machinery such as lathes, drills and mills
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Manufacturing or continuous process industry experience
• Confined Space certification
• Working at Heights certification
• First Aid certification
