Ubeeco Packaging Solutions in Carole Park, Queensland, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to maintain plant machinery, troubleshoot breakdowns, and support facility projects. You will report to the Production Manager and lead from the front in maintenance tasks, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

The role requires a trade qualification and practical experience in maintenance fitting, with responsibilities including preventative maintenance, repairs, and coaching team members.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in maintenance fitting or similar.
• Experience supervising or leading others.
• Ability to plan and execute preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and manuals.
• Good communication in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance on plant machinery, tools and equipment.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and troubleshoot.
• Assist in facility maintenance and shutdown/project work.
• Train and coach staff on preventative maintenance processes.
• Execute regular preventative maintenance per schedules and manuals.
• Record repair/maintenance actions and contribute to reports.

As a result of organic growth and expansion, we are actively seeking aMaintenance Fitter to join our growing team on a permanent full-time basis. This role will be based in Carole Park, Queensland facility.

The Position

The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for the maintenance of all plant's machinery, tools and equipment from emergency breakdowns to preventative maintenance function and programs. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will leverage your past supervisory experience, knowledgeand understanding of industrial machinery and equipment.

This is not a “sit in the office and supervise from afar” role. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, can roll up their sleeves and lead from the front in all maintenance-related matters.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities of the role include:

• Day-to-day maintenance of plant machinery, tools and equipment.
• Emergency breakdowns and trouble shooting.
• Assist in general facility maintenance and shutdown/project work.
• Training & Coaching employees about preventative maintenance, as required.
• Perform regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools and facility infrastructure.
• Identify, research, and resolve problems.
• Develop, implement, and supervise the facility's Preventive Maintenance program with production staff.
• Repair machinery, equipment, facility infrastructure, and other Company assets in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, manufacturing specifications, or by management request.
• Work in association with contractors and other trade professionals where required.
• Ordering of supplies and parts as required, at competitive pricing and rates.
• Maintaining records of repair/maintenance activities.
• Preparing necessary reports, adhering to safety protocols, and fulfilling additional duties as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for the role you will possess the following skills and experience:

• Trade qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Maintenance fitter/machinist; or Fixed or Mobile Plant Mechanic) is highly desirable.
• Have the ability to handle responsibility and be accountable for actions/decisions.
• Able to identify and implement safe working conditions.
• Skilled in task organisation, deadline management, and maintaining composure when working under pressure.
• Ability to understand basic math and numbers, and use a computer, calculator and telephone.
• Have the capability to read and interpret drawings.
• Proficiency in preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and write basic English.
• Ability to multitask, good attention to detail & strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required, as well as having the ability to work. collaboratively within a team setting.
• Goal-oriented, punctual, and dedicated to improving plant machinery, tools and equipment.
