KB Seafood Co is Australia’s largest seafood company seeking a Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter for our production team. You will service and repair high-speed processing and packaging lines to keep efficiency at peak, while upholding safety and hygiene standards.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Multivac, Bizerba, and Cabinplant machinery, and a strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety. Willingness to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Fitter.
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or pharmaceutical environment preferred.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and servicing of high-speed machinery.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and food safety standards.

Responsabilités

• Machinery Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and emergency breakdown repairs on specialized food processing and packaging equipment.
• Specialist Equipment Care: Maintain and optimize Multivac packaging machines and Bizerba weighing/labeling systems along with other machines.
• General Repairs: Fault-find and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic hydraulic systems across the facility.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, or SQF).
• Hygiene Standards: Maintain a clean, sanitized work environment and follow strict GMP.
• Documentation: Accurate logging of maintenance work orders and requests.

About the Role

We are seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitterwith experience in a food manufacturing environmentor similar to join our production team.

In this role, you will ensure our high-speed processing and packaging lines run at peak efficiency. You will be directly responsible for the routine servicing, troubleshooting, and breakdown repair of specialized machinery while maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Machinery Maintenance:Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and emergency breakdown repairs on specialized food processing and packaging equipment.
• Specialist Equipment Care:Maintain and optimize Multivacpackaging machines and Bizerbaweighing/labeling systems along with other machines.
• General Repairs:Fault-find and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic hydraulic systems across the facility.
• Food Safety & Compliance:Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, or SQF).
• Hygiene Standards:Maintain a clean, sanitized work environment and follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Documentation: Accurate logging of maintenance work orders and requests.

Skills and Experience required:

• Trade Qualification:Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or equivalent trade certificate.
• Industry Experience:Experience working within a food manufacturing, FMCG, or pharmaceuticalenvironment. Also willing to take someone with little to no experience.
• Technical Expertise:Hands-on experience troubleshooting and servicing Multivac, Bizerba and Cabinplant machinery is highly regarded.
• Food Safety Knowledge:Strong understanding of HACCP principles, GMP, and the strict hygiene requirements of a food production site (e.g., using food-grade lubricants, preventing foreign matter contamination).
• Problem Solving:Excellent diagnostic and breakdown fault-finding skills under operational pressures.
• Communication:Strong communication skills to work effectively alongside production operators and quality assurance teams.
