Job summary

Cleanaway is seeking a Maintenance Fitter in Wingfield, SA. The role involves performing fault-finding diagnostics, carrying out repairs to keep plant operations running, and executing planned maintenance with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

You will supervise on-site contractors, document activities, and handle fabrication tasks using blueprints or drawings. A relevant trade certificate and related licenses are required or advantageous.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (AUS) or NZ Level 4 equivalent.
• Boilermaker trades encouraged to apply.
• Experience with Pumps, Compressors, High-pressure valves and flanges.
• Forklift license, EWP license, confined space and working at heights advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform fault/maintenance diagnostic activities and complete repairs to ensure continuous operation of the plant.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance and assist in shutdowns as required.
• Plan regular maintenance activities and implement improvements to fixed plant and work practices.
• Supervise contractors on-site and ensure safe working conditions.
• Document maintenance activities, maintain databases and generate purchasing requests.
• Perform fabrication per blueprints or drawings, including minor welding and operating lathe/drill/grinder.

Maintenance Fitter

• Permanent - Full-time position - Wingfield
• Pay rate of $38.36 per hour + penalties for overtime
• Monday to Friday + overtime available as required
• Flexible working arrangements, including opportunity for RDOs and flexible starting time

The Opportunity:

• Performing all activities safely
• Perform fault/maintenance diagnostic activities & complete repairs as required to ensure continuous operation of the plant.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance services relating to the plant. This includes assisting in the organisation of shutdowns
• Plan regular maintenance activities. Recommend and implement improvements to fixed plant and work practices
• Supervision of contractors on-site
• Documentation of maintenance activities, maintenance of databases and generation of purchasing requests
• Perform fabrication activities in accordance with blueprints or schematic drawings, including any minor welding repairs as required, set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking equipment.

About You:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (AUS) or National Certificate in Automotive Machining – Level 4(NZ) or equivalent.
• Boilermaker trades who have been working in Mechanical roles are encouraged to apply
• Experience with Pumps, Compressors, High-pressure valves and flanges
• Forklift license, EWP license, Confined space and working at heights are highly advantageous
• Computer literacy is essential for this role
• Ability to work overtime
• Demonstrated experience in fault-finding and repairing a range of machinery
