Job summary

Maxwell Recruitment and Training is seeking experienced Boilermakers to join our team at a steel recycling facility in Newcastle. The role involves maintenance, repair and fabrication of plant and equipment across the site, with a mix of breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance and heavy fabrication.

You will be responsible for fabricating and repairing steel components, reading drawings, and supporting shutdowns and general maintenance in a busy industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Boilermaker required.
• Experience in heavy industry or related sectors preferred.
• Strong MIG and Stick welding skills required.
• Experience with fabrication and maintenance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, welding and repair of steel components and structural elements.
• Maintenance and repairs to chutes, hoppers, conveyors and processing equipment.
• MIG and Stick welding.

Maxwell Recruitment and Training have been a specialist supplier of skilled labour into heavy industry for over 15 years and currently have multiple opportunities available for Trade Qualified Boilermakers.

We are seeking experienced Boilermakers to join our team at a steel recycling facility in Newcastle. This is a great opportunity to work within a well established heavy industrial environment, with plenty of overtime available.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and fabrication of plant and equipment used throughout the steel recycling operation. The role will involve a combination of breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance and heavy fabrication across site.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication, welding and repair of steel components and structural elements

• Maintenance and repairs to chutes, hoppers, conveyors and processing equipment

• MIG and Stick welding

• Heavy fabrication and repair work

• Reading and interpreting drawings

• Completing breakdown and preventative maintenance

• Supporting shutdown and general maintenance activities across site

What We’re Looking For

• Trade Qualified Boilermaker

• Experience within heavy industry, recycling, mining, quarrying or manufacturing preferred

• Strong MIG and Stick welding skills

• Experience with fabrication and maintenance

• Strong commitment to workplace safety

• Ability to work in a fast paced industrial environment

• Reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team
