Job summary

Accor is seeking a Maintenance Assistant at Mantra & The Sebel Twin Towns Hotel & Apartments on the Gold Coast/Northern NSW border. You will be the master of all trades, addressing repairs, maintenance, painting and improvements to keep the property in pristine condition.

You should have hands-on experience with general building maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical), be capable of independent work and collaboration with a diverse team, and be available for weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance including carpentry, plumbing or electrical work is preferred
• No formal qualification is required
• Strong problem solving and communication skills with staff, guests and contractors
• Able to work weekends and public holidays as required

Responsibilities

• Maintain all rooms, amenities and communal areas in excellent condition
• Collaborate with a diverse team and work independently when needed
• Tackle maintenance tasks and preventative projects as required
• Identify issues early and address them to prevent further damage

Mantra & The Sebel Twin Towns Hotel & Apartments are two properties that sit side by side on the Gold Coast / Northern NSW border overlooking the beautiful Coolangatta Beach. The properties offer a range of hotel style rooms as well as one, two and three bedroom apartments and pools for guests to enjoy. In your downtime, experience the laid-back lifestyle of the Southern Gold Coast and Tweed Heads region by heading down to the beach, or visiting one of the many pubs, clubs, or restaurants along the foreshore and surrounds.

Purpose

As Maintenance Assistant, you will be the master of all trades, prepared to take on any maintenance, repair, paint job or improvement challenge that may arise. You possess the ability to spot issues before they escal ate (today's leak could become tomorrow's flood!) and you skilfully employ your handy tools to address a diverse range of tasks, ensuring the property remains in impeccable condition.

Primary Responsibilities

• Take charge of ensuring that all rooms, amenities, and communal spaces within the property are well-maintained and in excellent condition
• Collaborate with a diverse team, requiring both a cooperative mindset and the abil ity to work independently
• Encounter stimulating challenges that require innovative solutions
• Execute maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance projects as required

Skills And Experience

• Comfortable in a physical role, have a get-up-and-go attitude and be someone who won’t stop until the job is completed in a safe and presentable manner
• Prior experience with practical skills in general building maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing, or electrical – no official qualification required
• Great problem solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, from the General Manager, to guests and contractors working onsite
• Available to work a variety of shifts including weekends and public holidays as required
