Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a Maintenance and Grounds Officer based in Wynnum, with regular travel to BlueCare sites across Queensland. This permanent full-time role from Monday to Friday focuses on upkeep of buildings, gardens and grounds, and supports safety and presentation.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, assist with site inductions and safety requirements, and work with residents, staff and contractors to keep environments welcoming.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience and/or a certificate in maintenance, grounds keeping, horticulture or a related area.
• Experience maintaining buildings, plant, equipment, gardens or grounds.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Strong customer focus with good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage work schedules and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in IT systems.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence – Essential
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain – Essential
• Confidence to satisfy the probity checks required by legislation or policies

Responsibilities

• Undertake general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, plant and equipment.
• Maintain gardens and grounds, including planting, pruning and lawn care.
• Support preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards and required improvements.
• Support contractors onsite, including site inductions and WHS requirements.
• Provide maintenance and grounds support across other BlueCare sites when required.
• Work independently while connecting with residents, colleagues and contractors to keep environments safe and well-presented

Employment Status: Permanent Full Time - Monday to Friday. Location : Based at Wynnum regular travel required to BlueCare sites across Queensland. Remuneration: $30.05p/hr + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay) + Employee discounts.

About the role:

• As a Maintenance and Grounds Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day upkeep of our buildings, equipment, gardens and grounds through preventative and corrective maintenance.
