Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a Maintenance and Grounds Officer to upkeep buildings, gardens and grounds across Queensland sites. Based in Wynnum with regular travel, you will undertake preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure safe, functional environments for residents and staff.

You’ll join the Facilities & Maintenance team, working independently yet connected with residents, colleagues and contractors. The role requires relevant certificates or proven experience and a current driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Certificate or demonstrable experience in maintenance or grounds care.
• Experience maintaining buildings, plant, gardens or grounds.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Strong customer focus with good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage work schedules and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with IT systems.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence – Essential.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to satisfy probity checks.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, plant and equipment.
• Maintaining gardens and grounds, including planting, pruning and lawn care.
• Supporting preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
• Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards.
• Supporting contractors on site with inductions and WHS requirements.
• Providing maintenance and grounds support across BlueCare sites when required.

Remuneration: $30.05p/hr + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay) + Employee discounts

About The Role

As a Maintenance and Grounds Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day upkeep of our buildings, equipment, gardens and grounds through preventative and corrective maintenance.

• Undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, plant and equipment
• Maintaining gardens and grounds, including planting, pruning and lawn care
• Supporting preventative and reactive maintenance activities
• Identifying and reporting maintenance issues, safety hazards and required improvements
• Supporting contractors onsite, including site inductions and workplace health and safety requirements
• Providing maintenance and grounds support across other regional BlueCare sites when required

You’ll have the opportunity to work independently while connecting with residents, colleagues and contractors and contributing to a safe and well-presented environment.

Role Requirements

• Relevant experience and/or a certificate in maintenance, grounds keeping, horticulture or a related area
• Experience maintaining buildings, plant, equipment, gardens or grounds
• Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Strong customer focus with good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage work schedules and meeting deadlines
• Proficiency in IT systems
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence – Essential
• NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain - Essential
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
