Job summary

QMS Media on the Gold Coast is seeking a Maintenance team member to keep street furniture assets in top condition across the designated area.

You will work Monday to Friday with early starts (6am) and occasional 3am shifts; on-call every 4th week, and you’ll perform repairs, cleaning, painting, lighting checks, and safety duties while ensuring compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

  • Full Manual Queensland driver’s license.
  • Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 25kgs.
  • Must be able to hold up to 80kgs with another person.
  • Frequent standing/walking, able to climb ladders and stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all assigned street furniture assets.
  • Prepare, check and install posters.
  • Review assets regularly to meet requirements.
  • Clear broken glass and secure sites.
  • Undertake minor and major repairs.
  • Install and remove bus shelters and components.
  • Check and replace lighting tubes.
  • Monitor and report damage or vandalism.
  • Remove graffiti and unauthorised advertising.
  • Strip, rust removal and painting of shelters.
  • Pest control tasks.
  • Accurately record daily activities.

What You'll Be Up To

The Maintenance role involves maintaining QMS Media’s suite of street furniture across the Gold Coast to a consistent and high standard. The role is responsible for a set number of street furniture assets within the designated area.

The role would suit a morning person as requirements are Monday to Friday with a normal start time of 6am each morning and fortnightly 2x days of a 3am start for poster installations. There is also a 1 in 4 week rotating roster for “On Call” duties.

  • Maintenance of all assets assigned.
  • Preparing, checking, and installing required advertising posters.
  • Reviewing all assets regularly and as directed by manager to ensure they meet company and client requirements.
  • Clearing broken glass and securing potentially hazardous sites.
  • Undertaking minor and major repairs.
  • Installation and removal of Bus Shelters and components
  • Checking & replacing lighting tubes
  • Monitoring and reporting of damage, faults and vandalism to assets.
  • Removing graffiti, stickers and any unauthorised advertising.
  • Stripping, rust removal and painting shelters
  • Pest control
  • Accurate recording of information relevant to the activities of each day on the appropriate documentation.
What We’re Looking For
  • Full Manual Queensland driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 25kgs occasionally and frequently exert force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
  • With another person, must be able to hold objects temporarily of up to 80kgs.
  • Able to sustain frequent periods of standing and walking, which may include climbing ladders and staircases.
  • Able to perform activities that include stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, turning, reaching and bending at the waist.
  • Comfortable with indoor and outdoor work environment with exposure to weather extremes
  • A high level knowledge of the Gold Coast road network and suburbs
  • Competent level of literacy and numeracy to complete the necessary paperwork.
  • Physically fit to carry out the tasks involved (medical check required)
