Job summary

SCT Rail in Australia is seeking a safety-minded Shunter/Train Driver to join the depot team. You will perform shunting duties, operate trains where permitted, and ensure compliance with SCT Rail policies and OHS requirements.

The role requires teamwork, customer focus, and the ability to work unsupervised in some situations. Applicants must hold shunting and train driving qualifications, a valid C Class Driver’s Licence, and be fit to meet the job demands.

Qualifications

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities:

• Ensuring safe & efficient shunting activities
• Perform assigned duties in accordance with SCT Rail’s policies and work instructions.
• Commitment to safety in the workplace
• Ensure compliance with all of SCT’s OHS policies, procedures and applicable state and federal legislation
• A strong customer focus orientation
• Be able to work in a team environment and in some cases unsupervised

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Shunting & Train Driving Qualifications.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid C Class Driver’s License
• A strong commitment to safety.
• Be reasonably fit and agile to meet the demands of the job.
