Job summary

Green Light Worldwide in Australia is seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS System Programmer to install, maintain and optimise z/OS environments. You will work with clients and internal teams to ensure stability, availability and performance of enterprise workloads.

The role covers software maintenance, troubleshooting and vendor product deployments, with on‑call incident support. An active AGSVA NV1 clearance is required, and Australian citizens who can secure baseline clearance may be

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Mainframe z/OS System Programmer within large enterprise environments.
• Strong experience in z/OS operating system installation, maintenance and support.
• Proficiency in JCL, REXX and HLASM programming.
• Strong understanding of z/OS architecture and services, including JES2/JES3, Sysplex, USS, VTAM and TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to clients and internal technology teams across the mainframe environment.
• Perform z/OS systems programming activities, including installation, maintenance, upgrades and configuration of operating system and vendor software products.
• Coordinate project resources required to deliver software maintenance and installation schedules.
• Ensure z/OS operating systems and associated software products remain supported, current and optimised.
• Work closely with z/OS administrators and infrastructure teams to analyse, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve system stability and performance.
• Plan, support and manage the installation, testing and implementation of infrastructure and vendor-supplied software solutions.
