Job summary

Kestrel Eight has partnered with a global enterprise technology vendor to deliver a large-scale mainframe tooling modernisation program for a major Australian Government client. We are looking for a broad z/OS operations specialist to lead this stream of the program.

Responsibilities include validating requirements, designing migration strategies, executing deployments, supporting tests and training client staff on new tooling. Candidates must hold NV1 clearance and Australian citizenship.

Qualifications

• Broad z/OS operations background covering at least two of: JCL validation tooling, output and report management, application performance diagnostics, print and spool management.
• Experience with at least one live tool migration or conversion in this space.
• Current NV1 (or above) security clearance and Australian citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Validate technical requirements across JCL, output, performance diagnostics and print tooling.
• Design and build the migration and deployment approach for each tool.
• Execute migration and deployment.
• Support test planning and execution.
• Train client operations staff on the new tooling.
