Job summary

Austchrome in Mackay is seeking a Machinist to join a specialist engineering team responsible for hydraulic components, chrome plating, and machining services. You’ll work with manual and CNC machines, read CAD drawings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

This permanent role offers shift options (Day and Afternoon), generous sign-on bonuses, and competitive overtime. You’ll join a family-like, safety‑driven environment with ongoing training and a strong focus on quality.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and reclaim hydraulic components using lathes and borers.

• Collaborate with trades across machining, fabrication, fitting and plating.

Responsibilities:

As a Machinist at Austchrome, you’ll be involved in manufacturing and reclamation of hydraulic components using:

• Manual Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical Bores and Cylindrical grinders.
• CNC Lathes and Horizontal and Vertical Borers running Fanuc controllers.
• Reading and interpreting complex engineering and CAD drawings to produce jobs to specifications.
• Conducting in-process quality checks with micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
• Collaborating in a team environment with experienced tradespeople across machining, fabrication, fitting and plating.
• Take responsibility for maintaining and improving a safe working environment and following all policies, procedures and safe work instructions.
