Job summary

Austchrome in Mackay seeks a skilled Machinist to manufacture and reclaim hydraulic components. You’ll operate manual and CNC lathes and borers, read complex drawings, and perform in-process quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and reclaim hydraulic components using manual and CNC lathes and borers.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce jobs to specification.
• Conduct in-process quality checks with precision tools.
• Collaborate with tradespeople across machining, fabrication, fitting and plating.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

As a Machinist at Austchrome, you’ll be involved in manufacturing and reclamation of hydraulic components using:

• Manual Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical Bores and Cylindrical grinders.
• CNC Lathes and Horizontal and Vertical Borers running Fanuc controllers.
• Reading and interpreting complex engineering and CAD drawings to produce jobs to specifications.
• Conducting in-process quality checks with micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
• Collaborating in a team environment with experienced tradespeople across machining, fabrication, fitting and plating.
• Take responsibility for maintaining and improving a safe working environment and following all policies, procedures and safe work instructions.
